Everything you want to know - FAQ

The Manager Essentials Program is targeting managers who are leading a team, a project or program. It specifically focuses on guiding people on their journey from individual contributor to a management role.
It is quite common that managers who are new in their roles, feel overwhelmed with the expectations towards them and are not even sure about their new responsibilities. At the same time, managers are the most significant lever an organisation has to engage with their employees and generate impact ( 70% of people who quit their job do this because of an issue with the manager). Thus, managers are the heart of every organisation and it is key to success to guide them at the start of their management career. It is old wisdom that the higher people climb on the career ladder, the more important soft skills get. This is why it is crucial to build these skills early on. Read more about the importance of soft skills in management here.
The program brings together the best of on and offline training, group and peer learning as well as personal coaching. All content in our programs are based on our personal and professional experience, on surveys and interviews with executives and senior managers as well as on exhaustive leadership and management literature review.
Each module that becomes part of the program was extensively tested and approved in our impakt360 lab. Approval means that 80% of managers deem the content presented relevant or very relevant for their daily work.
The impakt360 learning approach is based on repeated learning impulses in the form of group trainings and seminars, workshops and coaching combined with very frequent e-learning stimuli, so called micro learning elements.
Micro learning elements are bite-sized information in the form of an email, a short video message, a small read, or a question to reflect on. Participants will receive daily stimuli of max. 7mins. Learn more about our micro learning sessions here.
The program runs over 6 months. We believe that this offers sufficient time for the participants to gain confidence and transfer theoretical knowledge into real life skills.
There are 5 offsite days where participants come together for workshops, presentations and discussion: 3 full immersion course days - or core days - at the beginning of the training, one day progress review and group coaching half-way through the program, and the final closure day at the end of the program.
During 3 days, we share, discuss, develop all content around self management, team management and stakeholder management that is the basis for every effective manager. While we focus mainly on a seminar style approach with selected group activities, there will be the possibility to have personal 1-1 discussions on specific topics with the instructors. This part takes place 2 weeks after the course kick-off.
Participants meet and discuss progress made over the last weeks. This means analysing the applicability of the content developed over the 3 full immersion days, reflecting on the micro learning elements as well as looking into challenging situations they faced in the last 2 months and ways how they dealt with them. This part takes place in the middle of the training in week 14.
Participants meet for a recap of what has changed over the last 6 months and how to keep creating impact over time. We close with a graduation and networking event. This happens at the end of the program, in week 24.
Yes. For every module, a one-pager handout has been created to have all information easily accessible in a concise and handy format, highlighting the key takeaways and applications.
Yes, we do. All online learning elements happen on our online learning platform and our app. This allows participants to always have access to the course material and be able to discuss questions directly with other program participants or the instructors.
In between the group immersion days, participants have the opportunity of scheduling individual coaching sessions with our instructors. This will allow them to discuss in detail specific situations and how to use the tools & insights to move forward.
We’re a dynamic team of experienced managers with various backgrounds in IT, consulting, education, and coaching. Our head trainers are Aurelia Hackenesch and Benjamin Glemser. Click on their names to read their bios.
While we know that there is no “one-size-fits-it-all” solution to be an effective manager, we expect everything we teach at impakt360 to be relevant and immediately applicable for the participants. For every topic we discuss, we will immediately focus on the question: “what does this mean for me?".
